Pros

• The biggest advantage is, you do not have to think too hard about choosing a different shade for your ceiling and cornices but continue with the same that you chose for the walls.  Saves your time and energy too!
• It is really cost-effective.  You can buy a single paint at a wholesale price and be done with it.  There is no need to buy different or contrasting shades and we all know that some shades are costlier than the others.
• If you select a light hue, your room might look bigger than what it is due to varied light reflection.
• There is no fear of color of the wall or the cornices escaping into the ceiling line due to bad workmanship.  You are assured of a neat finish all over.

Cons

• Same color everywhere can get a little monotonous and boring over a period.  Ceilings and cornices need some emphasis.
• If you choose a darker shade, the room will look smaller than what it is.  You met get claustrophobic too!
• It will also show that you lack imagination and dislike experimenting.
• A bathroom needs good lighting effect and hence a white or a lighter hue ceiling will enable improved lighting.
